Our Process

bernier remodeling, home remodel, milford ct, home contractor, home improvementIn our initial conversation we will discuss the desired renovation, determine if there is a need for a design professional and establish a preliminary project budget. After a walk-through of the project site the preliminary budget will be solidified, a job scope developed and you’re added to our schedule to begin work.

With larger projects we traditionally sign a design agreement which is used to assure both the client and our staff that we are working toward a common goal. This phase is typically comprised of a fee based contract to develop necessary drawings and documents for approval through your local government and state departments. Any needed design changes may be addressed at this point which allows the opportunity to reduce unforeseen expenses that may have been incurred otherwise. At the end of this phase the budget will be adjusted, the construction agreement will be drafted and a time-line will be developed.

Before signing the construction agreement you have no other obligations, and have the option to proceed or decline moving forward with the project. At the end we work to close out the project as quickly as possible. This means taking care of all inspections and last minute details. We complete a final walk-through so our client can get on with life in their newly created or renovated space.
